The German Achaeological Institute has long maintained close links with Hungarian colleagues working across the historical sciences and wider humanitites. One of our commissions, the Romano-Germanic Commission in Frankfurt, cultivates particularly close links with Hungarian scientific community. It is engaged in several ongoing cooperation projects in Hungary and even maintains a branch office within the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.
As such we fully support the staff of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences in their attempt to maintain their academic freedom as well as integrity and independence in their research.
