With high concern I was informed that due to new funding rules, the academic freedom of the Hungarian Academy of Scienes is in question.
I sincerely ask you in your function as President of this eminent institution to guarantee rules and procedures which allow for academic freedom and a selection of scientist of highest quality, independently of their political orientations and affiliations, and of the topics they elaborate on.
